LG Louvre GC990: The Flagship
Author: Simon Drew
What is the Concept
The LG Louvre GC990 appears to be a concept for a mobile phone to have a camera feature that is much more than just an add-on. It appears that LG is trying to really focus their energies on creating a phone around an incredible camera, rather than create a camera around a mobile phone.
This new flagship camera phone from LG was introduced to the public in Warsaw, during the Korea Products Exhibition. And from that point on, the LG Louvre GC990 has been getting Internet chatter rolling and is generating a lot buzz, which it really deserves.
What is the Hype?
The hype is the fact that this concept mobile phone has taken camera phones to a new level. If you are a person that places specs as a top priority, then the LG Louvre GC990 will have you drooling. It has a 12-megapixel camera that is equipped with top of the line lenses from Schneider-Kreuznach, which is a known traditional optics manufacturer that specializes on lenses and glasses. This masterpiece of a camera is something that no other camerap phone in the market today can measure up against and it is therefore something the LG people can be really proud of.
But the features of the camera phone does not end there, the LG Louvre GC990 also comes a Xenon flash, zero no shutter lag and geo -tagging, which means that it will be able to take pictures as fast as other digital cameras out there. It also has interlizoom and touch focus, an accelometer, S-class Touch Ui, and a whole lot more. These features, coupled with a 3.2" touchscreen allows for only the highest quality pictures to be viewed and shared with other people.
The mobile phone also boasts of having the ability to record high definition videos (1280 x 720 resolution), which is something never seen with a 12-megapixel camera yet. Past camera phones only had one or the other but with the LG Louvre GC990, you now have the best of both worlds. The camera phone is also said to support ISO 3200.
Deserves the Hype?
It certainly deserves the hype it is currently getting but the question will be, "will the concept materialize to the actual production phone?" As long as LG is able to keep a certain amount of the features it is promising, the Louvre stands to be a very promising piece of technology that deserves all the hype it is currently getting. One can only hope that LG is not all talk and that the Louvre will materialize as beautiful and promising as they are making it out to be.
