Author: Leonard Rigsby

Domestic alarm systems are of two kinds; you have the hard-wired alarm system and wireless alarm system. The easier of the two to install is the wireless alarm system. This is due to the fact that hard-wired systems entail more work, requiring you have the knowledge and adequate experience of electrical wiring in order to carry out this task. .

This, however, is not the case with a wireless alarm system, which can be installed by almost anybody. One major difference between the two is the absence of cables, channeling of walls and what have you. So how then do you carry out a wireless alarm system at your home? .

First, you need to plan, which should be with the aid of a pencil and paper if installing any of the wireless domestic alarm systems. On the paper, you should draw a floor layout plan showing positions where you wish to provide protection in your home. The positions identified here will be where your wireless sensors (they will identify intruders) will be placed. Also, you will need to decide where to place your main control box. .

It should be located close to your main entrance and exit points of your home so as to allow you the opportunity to turn on or off your security apparatus. This is however, not the case with many wireless domestic alarm systems since they have wireless key fobs that allow you to turn off or on from a distance..

You can then install the bell box if one is needed, making sure you locate this in a wise place, not easily noticed by invaders. This task should be followed by having your windows and external doors fixed with wireless sensors so they can trip off the alarm when an invader interferes with them..

The next thing will then be to place internal sensors in different locations as stated in your plan. You will also need a PIR movement detector, which can be screwed to a wall location of your choice. This home security system can be complemented with CCTV security system (i.e. closed circuit security system)..

This CCTV security system can be set up in two different methods. The first is fixed cable while the other is wireless connection. It is made mainly of a monitor, cameras, and cables if you are using fixed cable connection and a recorder (DVR or VCR)..Some benefits of domestic CCTV security installation include: discouraging people from invading your home, enabling you with the ability to see what is happening on your property and the opportunity to notice when help is needed by a family member, et al. A major benefit of wireless domestic alarm systems have is flexibility since you can move on with them as you change homes.
